BioChar-International is committed to becoming the pre-eminent worldwide supplier of premium quality, pelletized biochar/biocoal from independent producers using biomass, biosolids and other sustainable feedstocks for resale directly to end-users for applications in existing (energy – residential and commercial power), adsorption/filtration) and emergent (terra preta/soil amendment) markets.
Overview of BioChar-International LLC
Demand for biochar (in energy markets, also referred to as biocoal) is growing worldwide. Our company is comprised of partners who bring complementary expertise:
- Commercially proven biochar/energy production technologies;
- Renewable biomass feedstock suppliers;
- Experienced energy pellet marketing/sales experts with existing market channels and long-term biochar supply agreements.
Although carbon is carbon, there are significant differences between biochar products. Our testing has demonstrated that the variability among biochars, depending on production processes, elemental/ash content of feedstocks, and densification (pelletizing/briquetting) methods used.
BioChar-International believes that quality control and establishing high product standards are essential in the biochar/biocoal marketplace. Given the multiplicity of producers, production methods, wide variability in feedstocks, and lack of standards or regulation, we have developed a rigorous protocol for evaluating biochar products on behalf of our end-user clients.
